A couple of my friends posted about this collaboration and I thought my love for Dr Martens is too strong not to post about them...( Hi Millie and Lizzie if you are reading this!)
Dr Martens have teamed up with Liberty of London for a lovely summery, "Wild Nature" collection of Docs and bags!
So, you saw the other day what my carved wooden shoes were looking like!
I took them into College with the hope of using a band saw to cut the foot shape out (basically let the machine do all the work for me)! I was told that the shoes were too high and the wood was too thick to cut on a machine D: So for most of this week I have been furiously sawing them by hand to get them looking more like shoes...
I have started to sand down the right one. That is why they look different...
I have been looking at United Nude's shoes for design inspiration...
Want these the most! Swap?
I am bricking it about wearing mine down the catwalk at our end of year fashion show! I have already fallen over EPICLY in them :/
Speaking of the fashion show, I have kinda shot-gunned this song for my 2 minutes (or so...?) of the fashion show...
I have only decided on 1 final design so far and I need 3 by Friday :/...
The above pictures are a mash-up of my 1st final design!
I want to cut the triangles out of mirrored acrylic. I worked out (by cutting out lots of card triangles) that I will need about 75 triangles to make the top! When I told the technician this....Well as you can imagine she was not happy, so I have got to re-size them so that I only need 40 max!
Here are the beginnings of my carved wood shoes...
They don't look much, but they will (hopefully) get better...
My block of wood (Oak)! This will be a pair of shoes soon...
My pair of shoes (sort of)...
This is as far as I have got today, so I still need to curve everything to make them not so blocky, and sand them down :/...And cut a lot off, as the width is about a 3rd more than it should be!
Maarten Van Der Horst's Topshop collection is out FRIDAY!!!!! The collection does not disappoint, and even features some of his well know Hawaiian shirts and Tropical prints! Owww why did I have to spend my money already :(
Modelled by his friends...
Aww I wish I was friends with Simone Rocha and Susie Bubble!
I am literally SOOOOO GUTTED I couldn't go to Coachella festival in Palm Springs, CA, America!! :( :( The first weekend was last weekend and the second one is this weekend! I SWEAR I am going to be there someday! I can't imagine that it will be in the next 3 years as I will be poor at University living off baked beans and plane tickets to Palm Springs cost SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!! BUT.... It is on my bucket list! Fosho!
