High Street Trend : NEON

As the Olympics draws nearer and nearer, the trend for sporty, brights has increased. I don't care what anyone says, I LOVE it! Shops/websites like H&M and Asos have very much embraced this; releasing full collections based on this trend. Neon yellows and greens, tight and panelled. They have even gone as far as using sports fabric, for example; scuba suit dresses :)

Chanel A/W 2012

This collections is again something I saw ages ago! I really should get into the habit of blogging straight after I have seen something interesting! And this is interesting... Chanel's A/W 2012 collection has definitely got a futuristic theme to it; if it is the designs, the fabric or even the setting, this collection would look at home on a far away futuristic, frozen planet! It always amazes me how extravagant the catwalks are :O They must spend millions on props, models and venues (It was held at the Grand Palais)...

"Space-age sheen"

I like how even though the designs are modern and space-age, they still have the classic, iconic Chanel look, making them immediately recognisable to the brand!

Givenchy Couture

Ok, so I know I am a bit late posting about this (well, a year late actually), but I couldn't resist! Just before Easter break our class had to do a presentation about our FMPs! A friend of mine who is looking at the day of the dead festival for inspiration, spoke about these dresses (which I had never seen before)! I think I am almost certain that if I ever get married, I want something like this as a wedding dress...

I LOVE the delicate skeletal embroidery/embellishment! They look elegant and feminine with a refreshingly quirky theme despite the fact they are serious gowns.

Although the 2012 collection has a similar delicateness to 2011, I am not as sure about the darker look...

Through lookbook I have just discovered another incredibly talented 17 year old! This time; a photographer! Mikko Puttonen from Finland! Seriously! He puts my 17 years on this planet to shame :O See for yourself...

LONDON!

Had a really busy trip to London with some friends on Thursday :) Mainly for Final Major Project research! We visited 4 museums and then had 6 hours in Oxford street! Spent WAAAAY too much money but i'm trying to forget about that :/

First we went to the Huntarian museum to look at the pickled body parts! I didn't get any photos because we weren't allowed :( And i'm too much of a goody goody to break rules like that! :(

Then we went to the Natural History Museum....

I also took some bird photos for my friend who is studying birds for her FMP!...

...Then we went to the V&A for 5 minutes and walked straight out, because they have got rid of the fashion section !!!! Outrage!! So we went to the Science Museum, which had also got rid of the fashion technology section :O They had lots of space ships though...

I am also going to Intech (the science place) on Tuesday and to London again on Thursday to visit Cyberdog for some futuristic fashion inspiration  :P

Oh Dear!

This is my failed attempt at space photography!

You can just about see the moon!

I got the telescope out and had a nice look at the moon, which was very clear, but my camera didn't agree with it and kept focusing on the wrong thing :( Waaaa! I think I am just going to have to call NASA and ask them to let me use their cameras :P
