Designer of the Week - Simone Rocha

I truly believe that Simone Rocha's footwear should be raved about so much more. The Simone Rocha fashion label is great and all, but her shoes are what makes the brand strive, in my opinion of course. Her PVC and acrylic brogues have become iconic to her brand and even when googling her brand, the shoes are what show up first. I love the contrast between the traditional brogues and the contemporary materials; a literal and metaphorical contrast.

Maarten Van Der Horst for Topshop

Maarten Van Der Horst's Topshop collection is out FRIDAY!!!!! The collection does not disappoint, and even features some of his well know Hawaiian shirts and Tropical prints! Owww why did I have to spend my money already :(

Loving Simone !!!

One of my favourite fresh designers at the moment is Simone Rocha. I first got familiar with Simone Rocha's SS 2012 collection and I loved everything!! At first I was reminded of a more urban Erdem, mixing the delicate lace with plastic! AW 2012 still has this look to it! Plus shiny silver metallics!!!! The pony skin and acrylic brogues are probably one of Simone Rocha's more well known designs, and these have also been featured in the AW 2012 collection...

MERMAIDS !!!!

When I was a little child I was OBSESSED with mermaids!! You would often find me wrapping my legs in fabric and rolling round the house like a fish out of water! My idol was Ariel from The Little Mermaid! I am very excited to say that my favourite trend of this season is MERMAIDS!!! Pearls, Coral, Metallics, Sequins, Flowing fabrics and shiny plastics have all strutted down the catwalk. I think this is why I LOVE fashion so much, I can re-live my childhood dreams :)
