A new look for University...?

Recently I have really been getting fed up with my hair! It just cannot make up it's mind! One day it is really knotty and all I can do with it is put it in a bun, and the next day it is really soft with no shape and I don't like having straight, soft, lank hair, so I also just put it up then!

At the moment I have honey blonde hair at the end and then quite dark roots, which is why I want to dye the ends even blonder to get ombre hair! I am also really in love with pastel hair, so maybe I could dye the blonde bits a colour??? Raaa, I really need advise :(

Here is some inspiration...

I especially like Charlotte Free's hair because she manages to avoid looking really girly girly...

I do like pink...

...But I have quite brown skin, so should I go for cooler shades...??

Hmmmm??

Also earlier my sister threw these in my room...

You know what i'm thinking...

2 Things...

Today I was reading Teen Vogue and I came across an article about Kimbra :) In the article photo she was wearing MY FAVOURITE: Emma Mulholland! Yaay...

She likes Emma Mulholland alot...

I like Emma Mulholland alot...

Here is Kimbra with Mark Foster and A-Trak...

Also I found out that Basso & Brooke have collaborated with The Cambridge Satchel Company! I don't know if I am behind in finding out about this? If so, oh well!

They look SO goood! And will be hitting stores in the Autumn!

Cambridge Satchels are THE BEST! And I swear they have magic powers... Because I spilt (No! actually my mum!) Spilt a bottle of nail varnish remover on mine which bleached the colour out of it (it's purple) but after a while the colour just GREW BACK!? Magic! I would definitely recommend them to anyone! They may be on the pricey side (around 100 squid for purple ones) but I can tell I will still have mine when i'm old and wrinkly! It has lasted me through two years of art college so far; being kicked, stuffed, flicked with ink and paint, dragged along the floor and it still looks new (ish)!

P.s. Sorry for the random-ness of this post! These were just things from my day!

Up-Cycling : Peplum Style!

Just after Christmas I bought this polka dot pencil skirt in the Topshop sale. It was £5 because it had a massive rip in the lining, so I decided to fix it and shorten it slightly to fit me. I was happy with this for a few months, until the other day I realised I had only worn it once... I think I was being too optimistic trying to suit a pencil skirt. I just don't have the legs!

Soooo, I thought I would have another go at changing it (in a more drastic form this time) to make a PEPLUM TOP :)

The skirt before...

I usually make my own patterns, but I found a top from a dress patttern that I wanted to try! It was a tight fit getting all the pattern pieces on the fabric, so I had to combine the polka dot fabric with some plain black left over scraps from FMP! I think there is a bit of a bias cut issue on the back of the top, where I had to rotate the pattern to fit it on the fabric :P
Oh well no one will know! (Shouldn't have told you that) Ha!

The skirt layed out flat...

You can see how much of a squeeze it was... I had to fold most of the pattern over to fit it on my last scraps...

Some serious tailoring going on there! Btw patterns are sooo not size accurate! It's best to cut a size larger so you can take it in if neccessary...

Almost finished! I'm not showing you pictures of the back yet, as I still need to sort out the zip!
I will post final photos soon!

Give me Dion Lee please!

What is it with these Australian designers! I just can't get enough of them.
Bit like French house producers :P
I am adding Dion Lee to my obsession list, along with Emma Mulholland!
I should just emigrate to Australia, not just for the fashion but for the sun too.
The have it good over there!

Here is a tasty selection of Dion Lee 2010/11, 2012 and Resort 2013...

Love it all! Gonna buy my one way ticket to Australia!
