LFW! September 2012!!

Second really late update post!

So, straight after Sardinia, I was up in London interning for Eleanor Amoroso. I got to help Eleanor exhibit her work at LFW and also sneak into a couple of shows!

In the Vauxhall Fashion Scout hall we were exhibiting next to a couple of really friendly and talented designers:

Mingpin Tien...

Ahhh his BEAUTIFUL SHOESSSSS!!!....

Hiroko Nakajima...

Her S/S 2013 collection was really sleek and when looking closely at the garments you notice silhouettes burnt into the velvet and sewn in...

A few photos from the week before LFW, in the process of making the collection...

Whilst at LFW we managed to sneak into the Graduate Showcase in the next room to us.
Exhibiting some of this years most promising graduate work...

Here's some better photos... not taken by me :P

One of the best days so far!

I am now in the middle of my week with Eleanor Amoroso, and I have to say it keeps getting better :D

Today we went to the Vauxhall Fashion Scout venue in Covent Garden to set up the exhibition.
After this I was allowed to stay for a meeting with the Vauxhall people and the visual merchandiser from Selfridges to talk about the exhibition and what to expect from stockists and buyers etc...

After this Eleanor invited me to go with her to a preview of Elliot Joseph Rentz' S/S13 collection! It was a really stunning collection, even more so when I learnt that he is only 18 (like me!!)

Now I definitely have to get my act together!

Here are some photos of my day...

Trying on one of Eleanor's pieces...

At Elliot Joseph Rentz' preview...

(Such a good collection, my iPhone pics do it no justice! Sorry)

HE IS SELF TAUGHT AND ONLY 18!! THAT'S CRAY CRAY!...

This is him...

I've got some catching up to do!

Check out his website for better photos...

Interning in London For... ELEANOR AMOROSO!!

For the past few weeks (taking a break in the middle to visit Sardinia) I have been interning for Eleanor Amoroso! I blogged about her work a few weeks before I started interning for her, if you would like to see some of her work from past seasons...

This week is my final full week (as you can see by my amateur efforts at keeping up a daily London lookbook)! I have been helping to bind, knot, macrame and sew elements of her collection.

On Friday, Saturday and Sunday I will be helping exhibit her S/S 2013 collection at London Fashion Week :D

Here is a little preview of her S/S 2013 collection...

You can find the official preview of all the exhibiting designers here...

I am actually loving interning for her and being in the buzz of London!
I keep meeting really interesting people on the train home :P

Today I was just sitting next to a lady who was crocheting a fur and crochet sample for a fashion company. I got talking to her and she has recently graduated from Bucks Uni, and is starting up her own website, alongside working for the fashion company.

Her website is still under construction but hopefully you can see some photos of her work soon. She showed me some photos on her phone whilst we were chatting on the train and her work looked amazing and very detailed.
I am definately becoming very fond of techniques such as crochet and macrame!

At the end of this week I will be able to show you some more photos of my week with Eleanor :)

Whilst in Italy I discovered my summer song for this year!! Another mash-up from Tiesto's podcast...

I think I almost like it more than my all time favourite song/ mash-up from last year...

Hmmm....

Eleanor Amoroso

I really don't know when I first heard of Eleanor Amoroso's work...? For some reason I just discovered I was following her on blogger, facebook and Twitter :/ Very peculiar, as I have been following her unknowingly for a while, but I simply cannot put my finger on where I discovered her...

Anyway it obviously happened for a reason, because I love her work!

Her collections are all based around one idea and technique which translates really well from S/S to A/W! I really like how she has decided to stick to black and white, resulting in sophisticated designs. You can really focus on the detail and technique that has gone into them, without being distracted by lots of colours...

Here is a selection of high street pieces inspired by Eleanor Amoroso...

 Asos

Urban Outfitters

This is the perfect trend for summer holidays, festivals and parties, and can be worn by anyone by keeping it simple and sticking to minimal colours!
